A fire outbreak at the Fineprint Warehouse in Tema Industrial Area has been successfully confined after the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly.

The fire, which engulfed a warehouse storing paper rolls for books, cement bags, and other materials, was reported at 1613 hours. The Tema Metro Fire Station swiftly dispatched a fire pump, arriving at the scene at 1625 hours to begin containment efforts.

Realizing the intensity of the blaze and the high risk of spread to nearby warehouses, additional reinforcements were called in. A total of six fire pumps from various stations including Tema Metro, Newtown, Industrial Area, Ashaiman, Motorway, and Tema Oil Refinery Fire Stations were deployed to combat the fire. Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the flames, successfully preventing further escalation by 1757 hours

Although the fire has been confined, personnel remain on-site to ensure complete extinguishment and to prevent possible reignition. So far, no injuries or fatalities have been recorded.

Authorities have advised nearby businesses and workers in the industrial area to exercise caution and cooperate with emergency responders as they continue their operations.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Fire officers are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the blaze’s origins and assess the damage’s extent.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures in industrial zones, especially in warehouses storing highly combustible materials such as paper and packaging products.
