
The President, John Dramani Mahama, has set up an Anti-Flood Taskforce to address the country’s recurring flood challenges.

The taskforce, chaired by Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) Stan Xoese Dogbe, is expected to develop and implement measures to mitigate the impact of floods nationwide.
Members of the taskforce include the Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing; the Minister for Local Government; the National Security Coordinator; the Deputy Director General of NADMO; and Madam Marietta Brew, Legal Counsel to the President, who will serve as Secretary to the taskforce.
The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to proactive disaster management and long-term flood prevention strategies.
