Ghanaian musician, Bashir Annan, popularly known as Gambo, has seen his iconic song “Drip Remix” receiving a nomination for “International Collaboration of the Year” at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The song, which features US rapper Jim Jones and Ghanaian musician Edem, has been recognized for its powerful blend of cultures and its impact on promoting Ghanaian culture on the international scene.

The “Drip Remix” video, a masterpiece of Afro hip-hop music, shot in New York, showcases Jim Jones handsomely dressed in kente like a Ghanaian king. This historic collaboration marks the first time a Ghanaian musician has influenced a Western artist to adopt the Ghanaian culture, rather than trying to dress and copycat the dress code of the Western world.

The competition for this year’s TGMA is intense, with some of Ghana’s top musicians namely Stone Bwoy, King Promise, Joe Mettle, and Diana Hamilton, securing nominations, making the race for the ultimate awards highly competitive.

The display of Ghanaian cultural heritage & pride, from the drummer’s to the worrier attires and display of the Ghanian cultural Adwoa dance in the ‘Drip Remix’ video to the Western world and diaspora was a true statement and is anticipated to win the ‘International Collaboration Of The Year’ category.

So far, Charterhouse has released nominees for several key categories, including Best HipHop Song, Best Afrobeat Song, Best Hiplife Song, Best Highlife Song, Best Urban Contemporary Gospel Song, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song, Best Music Video, Best Male Vocal Performance, and Best Female Vocal Performance.
