President John Dramani Mahama has reassigned Commissioner of Police (COP) Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah to the Ministry of the Interior, where she will serve as a Technical Adviser to Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.

The announcement, communicated through Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, follows an earlier appointment by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, who had named her as the Director-General of Research & Planning at the Ghana Police Service.

In a statement, the Presidency highlighted COP Addo-Danquah’s contributions to national security and expressed confidence in her ability to excel in her new role.

“His Excellency the President recognizes and deeply appreciates your unwavering dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contributions to the nation. It is his firm belief that your expertise and commitment will continue to serve the country effectively in your new capacity,” the statement read.

She is expected to coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure a smooth transition.

COP Addo-Danquah recently returned to the Ghana Police Service after serving as the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

She has also previously held the position of Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
