The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, to its National Disciplinary Committee over remarks she made in a media interview.

In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen program, Adwoa Safo alleged that some party members had tried to damage her reputation and weaken her influence.
She also defended her decision to stay away from Parliament during the debate on the controversial Electronic Transactions Levy (E-Levy), saying she was acting in the interest of her constituents.
The party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, stated that her comments went against NPP’s internal directives, prohibiting members from making public statements that could create division or unrest within the party.
He emphasized that as a former Deputy Majority Leader and Minister, Adwoa Safo was expected to uphold party unity and discipline.
The NPP had previously accepted her apology in 2023 after her long absence from Parliament, which led to calls for her removal.
However, her recent remarks have reignited tensions within the party, leading to fresh disciplinary action.
