Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, has called on Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to desist from abusing his parliamentary immunity by defaming public officials who are carrying out legally sanctioned public business.

Afenyo-Markin had claimed that during the operation, personal belongings, including jewellery and money belonging to Addison’s wife, were stolen by the security personnel.

Addressing these allegations at a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine dismissed them as baseless and an “insult to the security service.”

“If Afenyo-Markin is daring me, I will make that recording available, so he should resist maligning law enforcement officers who are conducting investigations, and myself for the work we are doing,” Dr. Ayine warned.

He further assured the public that all investigative procedures were conducted ethically and in the best interest of the nation.
