Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has extended a helping hand to traders impacted by the devastating fire at Adum, Kumasi, with a donation of GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to support rebuilding efforts.

The inferno, which swept through the commercial hub on Friday, March 24, destroyed several shops and stalls, resulting in losses worth millions of cedis.

During a visit to the affected area on Tuesday, March 25, Dr. Bawumia expressed his sympathies and called on individuals and businesses to assist in restoring the traders’ livelihoods.

“I am donating GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to the victims, and I urge private individuals to also support the traders in getting their livelihoods back,” he stated.
