The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued an unreserved apology to the Ashanti Regional Minister following controversial remarks made by a member of its Public Relations team regarding the recent fire outbreak at Adum, Kumasi.

In an official letter signed by Acting Chief Fire Officer Daniella M. Ntow Sapong, the Service distanced itself from the comments made by ADO1 Alex King Nartey, stating that they were “uncomplimentary” and did not reflect the position of the GNFS.
“On behalf of myself and the entire Ghana National Fire Service, we unreservedly extend our profound and sincerest regret for any unfortunate comment made against your good self and reputable office as the Regional Minister and Chair of REGSEC (Ashanti Region).”
The GNFS acknowledged the minister’s efforts in coordinating the response to the devastating fire and assured him of their continued commitment to reducing fire outbreaks in the region.
“We appreciate your contribution, sacrifices, and untiring efforts that contributed to the Operational Response and Management of this unfortunate Fire Incident,” the letter further stated.
The Service also noted that disciplinary measures would be taken against the officer involved to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.
The apology concluded with an assurance of continued cooperation and support: “Please count on our valued and compassionate support at all times.”
