Former Minister for Railways Development John Peter Amewu has been released following his arrest by National Security operatives on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Amewu was reportedly taken in for questioning over the controversial $2 million Sky Train Project, which has come under scrutiny for failing to materialize despite significant financial commitments.
His arrest forms part of ongoing investigations into the scandal, which Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, addressed in a press briefing on Monday, March 24.
Dr. Ayine confirmed that the project did not achieve its intended objectives, raising concerns over possible mismanagement of public funds.
He further disclosed that prosecutions related to the Sky Train scandal are set to begin by mid-April 2025.
