A heavy downpour accompanied by winds and thunder on Tuesday, March 25, caused significant destruction at the A&C Mall car park in East Legon, Accra, as the solar panel roofing caved in, crushing several parked vehicles.

Eyewitnesses say the storm struck unexpectedly, with strong winds tearing through the area and ripping off the car park’s roof.

Videos from the scene show the collapsed structure resting on multiple cars while distressed vehicle owners and bystanders scrambled to assess the damage amid the downpour.

The incident has raised concerns about structural integrity and safety at the facility, as affected car owners call for urgent intervention.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the situation.
