The New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Communications Director, Richard Ahiagbah, has criticized the 2025 budget presented by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, saying it does not meet the expectations of Ghanaians.

Speaking at a press conference at the NPP headquarters in Accra, Ahiagbah warned that people may soon regret voting for the NDC in the 2024 elections. He argued that the budget does not offer much to citizens and stated that the NPP will engage the public to point out the flaws in the NDC’s policies.
Although he admitted that removing the 10% betting tax and the e-levy was a good move, he insisted that many Ghanaians are unhappy with the budget.
Ahiagbah assured that the NPP will continue to analyze the government’s economic plans and push for better policies.
“Dissatisfaction with the 2025 budget is widespread is not a thing that the NPP is opposed to it, or not happy with it. It’s widespread. In the days ahead, we will be engaging in conversations about the budget. We assure that Ghanaians will get to understand that we have indeed made a wrong choice in selecting the NDC and not the NPP,” he said.
