The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno,  paid a courtesy call on traditional leaders of the Nungua Traditional Area in a move aimed at strengthening ties between the Ghana Police Service and traditional institutions.

Accompanied by key members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), the IGP first met with the Nungua Mantse, Oboade Notse King Professor Odaifio Welentsi III, and later with the Gborbu Wulormor, Nuumo Borketey Laweh XXXIII.

IGP Yohuno expressed deep appreciation for the traditional council’s continued support, acknowledging their critical role in preserving peace and stability in the area.

“We recognize the immense influence traditional leaders wield within their communities. Strengthening our collaboration is key to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of our people,” the IGP stated.

The traditional authorities warmly welcomed the IGP and his delegation, congratulating him on his appointment and encouraging him to deepen partnerships with stakeholders to improve national security.

They assured him of their unwavering support and pledged to work closely with the police service in promoting peace and development.

The IGP was accompanied by senior POMAB officials, including:

  • COP Daniel Afriyie, Director-General for Private Security Organizations
  • COP Dr. Ernest Owusu, Director-General for Services
  • COP Michael Nketiah Frempong, Director-General for Finance
  • DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General for CID
  • DCOP Fredrick Blogodzie, Director-General for Human Resource Development

The visit forms part of the IGP’s ongoing regional engagements aimed at building stronger community relations and fostering trust between the police and the public.
