Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the Presidential Advisor to President John Dramani, is demanding a public apology, retraction, and GHS10 million in compensation from outspoken NPP communicator Kwame Baffoe Abronye, popularly known as Abronye DC, over comments she describes as defamatory.

In a letter dated April 3, 2025, and issued by her legal representatives at R.O. Solomon Consulting, Mogtari accuses Abronye DC of making false and malicious statements during an interview on Net 2 TV in March.
According to the letter, Abronye claimed that Mogtari was discouraged from pursuing a ministerial appointment and instead accepted a stress-free role as a presidential staffer with a monthly salary of GHS 95,000.
He also allegedly insinuated that the said salary had made her “disrespectful to Ghanaians.”
These remarks, which have since been widely circulated on online platforms, including GhanaWeb, have, according to Mogtari’s legal team, subjected her to public ridicule, reputational damage, and severe embarrassment.
The lawyers argue that Abronye’s statements were “reckless, false, and made with malicious intent,” and stress that his actions have crossed the line of free speech protected under the Constitution.
The letter gives Abronye DC a clear ultimatum: issue a public apology and retraction on all platforms where the statements were broadcast or shared, and pay GHS10 million in damages or face legal action.
Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a respected lawyer and former Deputy Transport Minister, has not publicly commented on the matter herself, but the firm tone of the legal demand signals her determination to protect her name and reputation.
