The Executive Secretary of Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana (ADAM-GH), Mr. Azubila Emmanuel, has petitioned President John Dramani Mahama to remove Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Adukwei Mensa, her deputies, and some top EC officials, citing gross electoral irregularities, unprofessional conduct, and a threat to Ghana’s democracy.

In the petition to the President, Mr. Azubila accused the EC leadership of manipulating the electoral process during the 2020 and 2024 general elections and failing to ensure fairness, transparency, and stakeholder inclusivity.

Mr. Azubila cited, among other issues, the disenfranchisement of SALL residents, multiple declarations of results, missing biometric devices, and the use of pre-recorded election result announcements in 2020.

The petition also called for justice for eight unarmed civilians, including teenagers, allegedly killed by security forces during the 2020 elections.

“The Ghana Armed forces should come out and justify the killing of these innocent women and children and the rest for the whole world to know their crime that led to taking away their lives from them.”

He further urged the President to initiate urgent electoral reforms to rebuild public trust.
