The Auditor-General, Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, is set to embark on a comprehensive nationwide payroll audit covering all Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and subvented organizations on the Controller and Accountant General’s (CAGD) payroll.

The audit, which spans from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024, will include a full staff headcount and scrutiny of payroll records as part of efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in public sector wage management.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Auditor-General, all affected institutions have been urged to grant auditors full and unrestricted access to all relevant records.
“The Office of the Auditor-General calls on all institutions to provide unhindered access to books, returns, and other documents, including computerized and electronic records, to ensure the audit is completed smoothly and within schedule,” the statement said.
