
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Bawku, Zugraan Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, on Friday, April 11, 2025.

During the visit, IGP Yohuno expressed regret over the recent death of Fuseini Iddrisu and appealed for the support of the Overlord and his elders to help resolve the tensions between the youth and the police.
He assured the traditional leader of the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to working collaboratively with the community to ensure peace and security in Bawku.
‘He assured the Overlord and the people of Bawku of the readiness of the Police to work hand in hand with the community to ensure peace and security at Bawku.’
He further urged all police officers and security personnel to remain neutral and adhere strictly to their legal mandates.
The IGP and his team visited individuals who had sustained gunshot injuries during a recent violent incident.
The victims expressed their appreciation for the visit and appealed to the IGP to do whatever he could to bring lasting peace to Bawku.
The team also visited the Police Training School at Nangode, where they interacted with instructors and other officers.
Subsequently, they proceeded to Pusiga, Kusasa, and Garu to assess the extent of damage to property and engage with officers and community members.
At the District Police Headquarters in Bawku, the IGP engaged with police personnel and other security agencies, emphasizing the importance of neutrality and professionalism in their duties.
