The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Agbodza, has announced plans for the Tamale Outer Ring Road project, aimed to enhance economic activities and improve vehicular movement in and around the Tamale.

Hon. Agbodza revealed that this forms part of President Mahama’s plan to the people of Tamale to enhance the road infrastructure, during a courtesy call on the Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II, at the Gbewaa Palace.

“President Mahama is considering an ambitious project called the ‘Tamale Outer Ring Road,’ aimed at boosting economic activities and improving vehicular movement in and around Tamale.”

The Minister emphasized that the project aligns with the President’s vision to build better and lasting road infrastructure for Ghanaians.

He and his team of engineers are currently undertaking an inspection tour to gather firsthand information on selected key projects to inform strategic decisions on improving the country’s road network.

As part of the tour, Hon. Agbodza inspected the progress on the Daka Bridge at Yendi, the Tamale-Yendi-Tatale road, and the construction of a 60-meter span Bailey Bridge at Wapuli on the Saboba road.

Yaa Naa lauded the government’s “Big Push” Initiative, describing it as a catalyst for transforming the country. He encouraged the Minister to foster strong collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality road infrastructure nationwide.

In a gesture of goodwill, Hon. Agbodza made a personal donation of 500 bags of cement towards the construction of the new Gbewaa Palace.
