The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), in a joint operation with the CID and Ghana Armed Forces, has rescued 219 individuals trafficked into Ghana from across the West African sub-region.
According to EOCO, the victims were lured into the country with promises of lucrative job opportunities.
The rescue followed an intelligence-led operation, and investigations are currently ongoing to track down the syndicate behind the trafficking.
The rescued individuals are being screened while an investigation is ongoing.
