The Asogli State Council has officially destooled Togbe Afiatsoa III, Mankrado of Ho Bankoe, over what it describes as continuous misconduct and acts of insubordination.

The announcement was made on Thursday, April 17, 2025, during a ceremony at the Asogli State Palace in Ho, where traditional rites, including the pouring of libation and the slaughtering of a ram, were performed to signify the destoolment.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary of the Asogli State Council, Stephen Tetteh, the decision followed extensive consultations and a unanimous agreement by chiefs, elders, and kingmakers of the area.

“Over an extended period, he has exhibited gross disregard for Traditional Authority, deliberately denigrated the revered Agbogbome Stool and persistently brought the name of Asogli into disrepute,” the statement read.

The Council noted that several attempts were made to address the matter internally, but Togbe Afiatsoa III allegedly resorted to public platforms, including social media, to peddle misinformation and cast aspersions on the traditional leadership.

“Sadly, he chose to spurn all such opportunities and instead resorted to the reckless use of social media and other public platforms to spread falsehoods… aimed at undermining the image, integrity and cohesion of the traditional leadership of both Ho and the larger Asogli State,” it added.

The Council says Togbe Afiatsoa III is no longer recognised in any capacity as Mankrado of Ho Bankoe.
