
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Pope Francis, describing the late pontiff as a blessing to humanity whose legacy will continue to inspire generations of the faithful.

In a Facebook post, the Speaker reflected on the Pope’s recent participation in the sacred Triduum, noting the shock that followed his sudden departure.
“This is a blow to many faithfuls, but God knows best. It shall be well with our souls,” he wrote.
Bagbin called on the faithful to honour the Pope’s memory with joy and celebration.
“Pope Francis was a blessing to humanity. We will celebrate his life in joy.”
He emphasized the spiritual reminder the Pope’s passing brings, urging all to always be prepared to go to Zion, the beautiful city of God.
“His passing reminds us to always be prepared to go to Zion, anytime, any day, anywhere, the beautiful city of God.”
