
Police in the Western Region have arrested Salifu Gariba, a suspect in connection with the theft of a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Tarkwa.

The suspect was apprehended by officers from the Northern Regional Police Command on Tuesday, April 16, 2025, at Kukobila, along the Tamale-Bolgatanga highway.
The stolen vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GS 1845-23, was successfully recovered during the operation.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the vehicle was stolen in the early hours of Monday, April 15, from the residence of an EPA staff member in Budo City, a suburb of Tarkwa in the Western Region.
Police say Gariba is currently in custody and will be processed for court in accordance with due legal procedures.
