The Chief Executive Officer of the AfriKan Continental Union Consult (ACUC), Benjamin Anyagre Aziginaateeg, has issued a passionate appeal to church leaders and Christian institutions across Africa to reclaim their prophetic role in shaping the continent’s spiritual, economic, and political future.

In a release titled “A Wake-Up Call to the Church in Afrika”, he urged religious figures to confront foreign influences entrenched in pulpits and refocus their mission on transformation and justice.
Dr. Aziginaateeg called on leaders such as Dag Heward-Mills, Enoch Adeboye, Mensa Otabil, and others to reawaken the Gospel’s role in building empowered, self-reliant African societies.
“Afrika is not poor, she is plundered. Afrikans are not weak, they are misled. Our youth are not hopeless, they are hungry for true leadership rooted in purpose” he declared.

Brethren in the Lord from the Land of Alkebulan – The Garden of Eden!
I bring you greetings from the heights of Kilimanjaro and the wells of ancestral wisdom.
From the Gospel once preached in Ethiopia—the cradle of Christian heritage—we proclaim the Truth, the Way, and the Life.
The time has come for the Church in Afrika to arise as a beacon of spiritual authority and socio-political clarity.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not only about salvation in the afterlife, but about the welfare, well-being, and dignity of humanity here on earth.
The Church in Afrika must awaken to the reality that imperialism and neo-colonialism have found subtle but powerful expression even within our sacred pulpits.
Our institutions, once centers of liberation and hope, now risk being instruments of subjugation, where the cords of foreign influence are entangled with sermons, songs, and sacraments.
This must be exposed, confronted, and cast out.
Let us remember:
“By their fruits, you shall know them.”
When we all appear before the Throne, there may be those resting in “Heavenly Suites” and others in the corridors.
Why? Because the Gospel is not just a sermon—it is a life of truth, justice, service, and spiritual productivity.
Afrika is not poor—she is plundered.
Afrikans are not weak—they are misled.
Our youth are not hopeless—they are hungry for true leadership rooted in purpose.
Jesus Christ, in feeding the multitude, in cursing the barren fig tree, and in cleansing the temple, modeled a Gospel that responds to both spiritual hunger and physical need.
If churches in the Vatican and elsewhere have amassed wealth and invested in industries, must the Church in Afrika remain poor, disempowered, and dependent?
Let the pulpits echo with a new cry—not just for salvation, but for transformation.
Let every sermon awaken economic purpose, political stewardship, agricultural productivity, and continental unity.
The Sahel Alliance Confederation, and the dream of a Continental Union Government, must not only be a political ambition but a spiritual duty.
The Spirit empowers, but the flesh must be nourished to serve effectively.
For it is written:
“He who does not work, should not eat.”
In this Afrikan Year of Reparations and Justice (2025), what will the Church say?
What will it do?
Afrika waits not for words alone—but for deeds.
Let our churches partner with governments to create jobs, foster entrepreneurship, defend human dignity, and fight the residual chains of slavery, apartheid, and colonialism.
Matthew 16:26 – “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?”
Mark 8:36 – “What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
True love, neighborliness, and sacrificial service must guide our churches again.
Let us take inspiration from Pope Francis, a man of great humility who turned down riches to live a life of service—fulfilling the heart of Scripture.
The words of Prophet Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah still ring true:
“Ethiopia shall stretch forth her hands unto God, AFRICA MUST UNITE.” – Addis Ababa, May 1963.
Let this be the Word of the Lord to the Church in Afrika:
Arise.
Awaken.
Act.
In the Spirit of Truth, Justice, and Harmony.
In Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name.
Amen.
