The Eastern Region B Assemblies of God, Ghana, experienced a profound spiritual awakening as the General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, accompanied by his wife, Lady Monica Wengam, undertook a significant Apostolic Visit to the region.

Held at the Akim Oda Central Church, the event was the third stop in Rev. Wengam’s ongoing nationwide Apostolic Tour across all 24 administrative regions of the church. The visit drew together ministers, their spouses, retired clergy and their families, as well as widows of late pastors, all united in expectation and faith.

The gathering was marked by four hours of intense intercessory prayer and biblical teaching, led by Rev. Wengam in a spiritually charged atmosphere. Preaching from Matthew 21:13 – “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers” (NKJV) – he issued a stirring call to revival.

Rev. Wengam emphasized that prayer must remain the heartbeat of every church, urging churches to rekindle their commitment to intercession and holiness.

“A church that does not pray is dead, and worse, it becomes a den of thieves. This is not a rebuke, but a call to return to the altar.”

The General Superintendent also led married couples in a touching vow renewal ceremony, reinforcing the church’s commitment to strong, spiritually grounded families.

Rev. Obed Asiedu, Eastern Region B Superintendent, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the historic visit, praising Rev. and Mrs. Wengam for their unwavering dedication to grassroots ministry and nationwide spiritual renewal.

Lady Monica Wengam further demonstrated the heart of servant leadership by presenting undisclosed cash donations and cloth pieces to retired ministers and their spouses, as well as widows and pastors’ wives in attendance.

Her silent yet powerful act of kindness was deeply appreciated by the recipients and underscored the church’s culture of honour and compassion.

As Rev. Wengam’s Apostolic Tour continues, the message from Akim Oda is clear: the church must remain a house of prayer, alive, empowered, and spiritually alert.
