The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has called on church leaders to pursue genuine and lasting revival through persistent prayer and spiritual recommitment.

He made the call during his 20th apostolic visit of the year to the Greater Accra West Region, where he and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, met over 1,000 serving ministers and spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, as well as widows of deceased ministers.
The meeting took place at the Holy Hill Assemblies of God Church at Adabraka in Accra.
Also present at the event was the President of the Ghanaian Assemblies of God Fellowship in the United States, Rev. Dr. Andrew Anane Asane, and his wife.
The highlight of the gathering was a three-and-a-half-hour prayer session led by Rev. Wengam. The prayers focused on repentance, thanksgiving, spiritual warfare, intercession, and local church projects, with prophetic messages urging the church to embrace the wind of revival and reforms.
Rev. Wengam also officiated a renewal of marriage vows for couples present and preached a sermon titled “How To Turn Your Local Church Into A House of Prayer” (Matthew 21:12-15), in which he encouraged pastors to prioritize prayer in their ministries to ignite lasting spiritual renewal.
Lady Mrs. Wengam, who also serves as President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, presented gifts of cash and clothes to widows and wives of retired ministers. Retired ministers also received cash donations, while serving pastors’ wives were gifted clothes.
Regional Superintendent Rev. Michael Ayesu praised the annual apostolic visits, describing them as a source of encouragement and motivation for ministers and their families. He also presented special gifts to the General Superintendent and his family in appreciation of their leadership.
