Former Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, Eric Oduro Osae, has submitted documents to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to verify his use of the academic title “Dr.” following a formal request from the Commission.

In a letter dated October 8, 2025, addressed to the GTEC Director-General, Prof. Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, Mr. Osae confirmed that he had provided official evidence of his terminal degree, including the name of the awarding institution, his transcript, and a degree evaluation letter issued by the then National Accreditation Board (NAB), now succeeded by GTEC.
“Please find attached documents evidencing the award of my terminal degree, the awarding institution, copies of my transcript, and a degree evaluation letter issued by the then National Accreditation Board confirming the equivalency of my terminal degree to similar degrees awarded by recognized universities in Ghana,” Osae stated in his response.
He further indicated that he has also made available signed copies of his defended thesis, along with books and academic papers he has authored over the past decade.
“I trust that documents marked Attachments 1–3 will be adequate to satisfy the Commission’s request for official documentary evidence of my terminal degree,” the letter concluded.
The development follows GTEC’s directive on October 8, 2025, requesting Mr. Osae to provide proof of his academic qualification or cease using the title “Dr.” on public and professional platforms.
