NSS moves to fix data errors crippling 2025/26 registration after portal relaunch

The National Service Authority (NSA) has responded to growing concerns over data mismatches affecting the ongoing registration of prospective personnel for the 2025/2026 service year.

According to a statement issued by the Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, the Authority has observed that some applicants are unable to complete their online registration due to discrepancies between their tertiary institution details and Ghana Card information, particularly names and dates of birth.

“Incorrect dates of birth and name mismatches have been identified as the major setbacks,” the statement noted.

This development follows the relaunch of the National Service registration portal on Wednesday, October 8, which opened the online platform for the 2025/2026 batch of prospective service personnel.

The NSA outlined steps to resolve the issue, urging affected applicants to swear an affidavit and gazette their corrected details, then submit them to their respective schools for onward transmission to the Authority for record updates.

It further clarified that where the error originated from the tertiary institution, students must notify the institution for immediate correction, after which the updated details should be sent to the NSA via classlist@nss.gov.gh and copied to tweneboah.kodua@nss.gov.gh.

The Authority reassured all prospective personnel of its commitment to ensuring a smooth registration process, stating that no eligible graduate will be left out due to technical or administrative challenges.

“The Authority remains committed to ensuring that all eligible personnel duly register to undertake their mandatory national service in areas of national priority,” the statement added.

Prospective service personnel have been advised to contact their district or regional NSA offices or the head office support services for further assistance.
