The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atebubu-Amantin in the Bono East Region, Mr. Thomas Mas’wud Musah Ayaaba, has expressed concern over a worsening water crisis affecting several communities within the municipality.

Speaking to the media after appearing before the Local Government and Rural Development Committee, Mr. Ayaaba said the area has been struggling with low water tables and inadequate supply, posing serious challenges to households and local businesses.
“The municipality is facing a severe water crisis due to low water tables and limited access to sustainable sources,” he stated.
“We have engaged the community water system to provide temporary relief as we work toward a lasting solution.”
Mr. Ayaaba added that the Assembly is leveraging government programmes such as the “Akoko Nkitikiti” initiative to empower women and boost agricultural productivity through the Farmers’ Service Centre project.
He also outlined ongoing development efforts within the municipality, including the renovation of the Assembly block and hall, the construction of a toilet facility at Tezako, and the payment of outstanding certificates to contractors executing zonal projects.
The MCE expressed appreciation for the support received so far and appealed to stakeholders, development partners, and government agencies to assist in addressing the water challenges confronting Atebubu-Amantin.
