Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has paid a visit to the family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, to express his condolences and sign the book of condolence in her honour.

Dr. Bawumia was accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, alongside former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, former Energy and Education Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and former Works and Housing Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, among others.

The visit took place on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Ridge residence of the Rawlings family in Accra.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Ghana’s longest-serving First Lady, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital. She was widely celebrated for her lifelong advocacy for women’s empowerment, child welfare, and social development.

Her death has drawn tributes from across the country, with many describing her as a transformational leader who shaped Ghana’s social and political landscape through her courage and activism.

During his visit, Dr. Bawumia expressed sympathy to the bereaved family and acknowledged the late former First Lady’s “immense contributions to Ghanaian society.”
