 
                The Ghana Union of Traders’ Associations (GUTA) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, describing her passing as a painful loss to Ghana.

In a statement issued and signed by its Secretary-General, Alpha A. Shaban, GUTA said the news of her death on Thursday, October 23, 2025, “came as a pang,” adding that the entire nation has lost a woman of substance and purpose.
“The Former First Lady was a woman of substance and purpose, worthy of praise for her distinguished service to the nation. She will ever be remembered for her commitment and dedication to women’s rights and social transformation, which has contributed to and continues to shape the social and political landscape,” the statement read.
GUTA further expressed the Union’s sympathy to the Rawlings family, the government, and the people of Ghana, praying for divine strength and comfort during this difficult time.
“May the Almighty God grant the entire family, the children, and Ghanaians in general, the fortitude to overcome the shock and pain of the tragedy that struck Ghana on Thursday.”
