A group of Ashanti Regional Youth Organizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has strongly denied reports claiming they have endorsed former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, and signed by members under the banner “Ashanti NPP Youth Organizers for Truth,” the group described the claims made at a recent press conference in Kumasi as “false, misleading, and deeply disrespectful.”

According to them, their names were wrongly included in a list circulated by a group calling itself “DMB Ashanti Youth Organizers,” which allegedly declared support for Dr. Bawumia.

“We wish to state clearly and without ambiguity that we have not endorsed Dr. Bawumia. We have not authorized anyone to speak or act on our behalf, and we do not know how our names were added to the so-called list,” the statement said.

The organizers further expressed outrage over the inclusion of the name of their late colleague, Richard Kwateng, former Deputy Youth Organizer for Subin Constituency, who passed away recently.

“Even more disturbing is the inclusion of our late colleague, Richard Kwateng. His name appearing on the list is not only false but deeply disrespectful to his memory and family. It raises serious concerns about the credibility and integrity of the claims being made,” the group stated.

The youth organizers reaffirmed their support for Dr. Bryan Acheampong, describing him as their preferred candidate in the upcoming NPP presidential race.

“Our support remains firmly with Dr. Bryan Acheampong, and we stand by our right to choose and declare our political preferences without misrepresentation or manipulation,” they added.

The statement was signed by several constituency youth organizers, including John Ntim Kusi of Fomena, Usman Issahaku Karaok of Offinso South, Francis Tuffour of Juaben, and others across the Ashanti Region.
