GCAA-1-750x375

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has assured airline operators, aviation stakeholders, and the travelling public that air traffic services will continue without disruption despite a planned industrial action by the Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA).

In a statement issued, the Authority said it has activated comprehensive contingency measures to ensure safe, reliable, and secure air traffic operations across the Accra Flight Information Region (FIR).

The assurance follows a notice of a proposed strike action by GhATSEA scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025.

According to the GCAA, management has developed and implemented a CNS/ATM Systems Contingency Plan aimed at maintaining operational continuity and avoiding disruptions to both domestic and international flights.

“The contingency plan outlines detailed operational procedures, designated response teams, and robust coordination mechanisms designed to uphold aviation safety and service integrity during the period of the industrial action,” the statement explained.

The Authority urged all stakeholders, airlines, and passengers to “remain calm and confident” in the measures put in place to sustain uninterrupted air navigation services.

“GCAA remains fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of air navigation service delivery and ensuring the safety and security of all flights within Ghana’s airspace,” it stated.

The Authority also reiterated its commitment to staff welfare and human capacity development, noting that it continues to value and support its workforce even as it safeguards national aviation operations.
