Professional law students can now access financial support under the Students Loan Plus initiative, following President John Dramani Mahama’s directive for their inclusion in the national student loan scheme.

The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, said the move forms part of the government’s broader commitment to expand access to higher education and professional training through innovative student financing solutions.
“This inclusion of professional law students in the student loan scheme is in tune with the government’s commitment to promoting access to higher education and professional development,” the statement said.
Under the new arrangement, students from the Ghana School of Law are eligible to apply for full fee coverage loans to support their studies. The SLTF has also outlined a simplified online process for applications through its No Fees Stress Portal (www.sltf.gov.gh).
Prospective applicants are to select the Students Loan Plus option and follow the step-by-step guide provided on the platform.
The SLTF assured students of its readiness to offer guidance throughout the process. “Our team is available via email at info@sltf.gov.gh and through telephone numbers 0302751020 or 0264043072 to provide support,” the statement added.
The initiative, according to the Fund, underscores its mission to foster equitable access to quality higher education for all Ghanaians, a key priority under the Mahama administration’s education reform agenda.
