The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has commemorated the fifth anniversary of the passing of Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, founding President of Ghana’s Fourth Republic, paying tribute to his enduring legacy.

In a statement signed by Kakra Essamuah, Director of Communications for the party, the NDC described the late President as a “sterling contributor to the development and welfare of our people,” adding that “absolutely nothing will erase his legacy from the history of Ghana.”
The statement also reflected on the recent passing of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, the late President’s wife, noting that she “is yet to receive the full honours of a befitting farewell as an indelible mark of the gratitude of the people of Ghana for her memorable contributions to the nation.”
“For us in the NDC, it has been five long years of mourning and sorrow. We shall always remember him. Comrade President, Chairman Rawlings, continue to rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord,” the party said.
