Three suspects have been remanded into police custody by the Fiapre Circuit Court in connection with the theft of a service pistol at the Ahafo Newmont Mines Company at Ntotroso near Kenyase in the Ahafo Region.

According to a statement issued by the Bono Regional Police Command, the theft occurred on January 13, 2025, involving a Beretta service pistol with registration number GHGP/NHQ/CTD/H78688Z13.
The suspects, Joseph Blackige, 25, Kwabena Dodzi, 44, and Adu Yeboah Abraham, also known as Okwaraji, 46, were arrested on November 12, 2025, along with an 18-year-old woman, Priscilla Awuni.
Police say an intelligence-led operation conducted by the National Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU) led to the arrest of Blackige and Awuni at Ntotroso. A search in Blackige’s room yielded no findings, but during interrogation, he admitted handing over the stolen weapon to Dodzi.
He later led the police to the residence of suspect Adu Yeboah Abraham. A search there uncovered six BB cartridges, suspected gunpowder, and GH¢28,844 in cash. The items were retrieved as exhibits.
The suspects were subsequently arraigned on provisional charges of stealing and possession of stolen property. The court, presided over by H/W Mrs. Akua Adoma Addae, granted police enquiry bail to Priscilla Awuni pending further investigations.
The remaining three suspects have been remanded and are expected to reappear before the court on November 28, 2025.
The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command.
