Close to 900 female students of the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) have been displaced following a massive fire that gutted the school’s girls’ dormitory on Wednesday afternoon.

The affected dormitory, which accommodates students from four houses, Aggrey, Arthur, Ali, and Gbewaa, was destroyed by the blaze.
Students who were in class at the time rushed back to the facility in a desperate attempt to salvage their belongings.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) battled the inferno for several hours before bringing it under control.
Although no casualties were reported, the fire destroyed beds, mattresses, books, uniforms, and other personal effects, leaving many students distressed and without accommodation.
Authorities at the school are working to provide temporary shelter and support for the affected students while an assessment of the damage is carried out.
