55-year-old man arrested over brutal domestic assault in Juaboso

A 55-year-old man is in police custody in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region after allegedly inflicting severe injuries on a female relative during a domestic confrontation at Sefwi Abrokofe.

The suspect, William Gyamfi, popularly known in the community as Kwasi Manso, is accused of attacking Akua Agyeiwaa, believed to be in her early 50s, with a pair of scissors following a dispute within the household.

The victim reportedly sustained critical injuries to both eyes and was rushed to the Juaboso Government Hospital, where she is receiving urgent medical attention.

Police sources say officers on a community patrol responded promptly after a complaint was lodged and moved in to arrest the suspect. Residents at the scene are said to have confronted Gyamfi before the police arrived, leaving him with visible injuries.

At the time of his arrest, the suspect reportedly had a swollen left eye, a deep cut on his forehead, and bleeding wounds on his left leg. He was treated at the Juaboso Government Hospital and later discharged into police custody.

Authorities confirm that Gyamfi remains detained and is assisting investigators as inquiries into the incident continue.

Meanwhile, some residents of Sefwi Abrokofe have raised concerns about the suspect’s past conduct, alleging that he was previously involved in a violent attack on his brother-in-law using a cutlass.

Community members have called on law enforcement agencies to ensure a thorough investigation and accountability, warning that failure to act decisively could embolden similar acts of domestic violence in the area.
