Upper Manya Krobo MP boosts healthcare with equipment donation to Asesewa hospital

The Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, has donated essential medical equipment to the Upper Manya Krobo District Hospital in Asesewa, in a move aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the constituency.

The donation, which marks the second major medical intervention by the MP for the facility, included incubators, hospital beds, wheelchairs, an autoclave, a tricycle, and other essential items. Hospital authorities received the items to support patient care and ease operational challenges.

Speaking at the presentation, Tetteh Nyarko reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of his constituents, stressing that access to quality healthcare remains a shared responsibility.

“The development of the constituency cannot be fully achieved unless there is a strong and well-resourced health facility,” he said.

The legislator further disclosed plans to expand the hospital to its required status, expressing appreciation to the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and the Ministry’s PRO, Nene Ta Gbadja, for supporting the requisition process.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, the Medical Officer, Dr. Dovlo, expressed gratitude to the MP, noting that the equipment would significantly enhance service delivery and improve patient care.

The District Chief Executive, Emmanuel Kwesi Lawer, also commended the MP for what he described as practical and people-centred leadership. He cited the ongoing renovation of the Samlesi CHPS compound and previous equipment donations to facilities at Sisiaman, Battorkope, Djomoa, and other communities as evidence of Mr. Nyarko’s commitment to health development in the district.

Additionally, the Constituency Executive Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Moro Yakubu Hankuri, praised the MP’s stewardship, describing it as impactful and worthy of commendation.

The donation forms part of broader efforts by the MP to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and promote a healthier Upper Manya Krobo District.
