Adwoa Safo fails to win the Dome-Kwabenya seat in the NPP Parliamentary Primaries.

Sarah Adwoa Safo, the incumbent MP, was eventually defeated in her fourth try to retain her candidature for Dome-Kwabenya, with 328 votes out of approximately 1,841 delegates’ votes.

I’m very grateful to God because I know this was the battle of the Lord. Thank you to the people of Dome-Kwabenya for voting for me resoundingly,” Mike Ocquaye said after his victory.

Mike Ocquaye Junior, who attempted the challenge twice, currently has 1,194 votes, while Sheila Oppong has 186. Sarah Adwoa Safo has faced heavy criticism and has been entangled in several incidents leading up to the primaries.
Prior to the primaries, Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, stated that the current MP for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, had no chance in the ongoing New Patriotic Party primaries.

In an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3, Mr. Dankwah stated that the MP is embroiled in too many problems and would be unable to keep her position.

He claimed that Adwoa Safo will lose her seat even if she receives more votes.

“The poll numbers are not in her favour and the odds are against her. Mike Ocquaye Jnr is going to win the primaries this afternoon. It should be very clear on what has happened in the constituency in the past and the TikTok issues. People have not forgiven her and that’s how bad delegates think she’s done to the NPP and on that note my MP will not go back to Parliament,” Mr. Dankwah said.
