Arise Ghana congratulates Bawumia on election as NPP flagbearer

Pressure group Arise Ghana has congratulated Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia following his victory as the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a press statement dated Monday, February 2, 2026, signed by Convener Bernard Mornah described Dr. Bawumia’s victory as decisive and commended the democratic process that led to his election.

“It is with great pleasure that I, on behalf of the entire membership of Arise Ghana, extend our warmest felicitations to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his decisive victory,” Convener Bernard Mornah said.

Arise Ghana also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting democratic consolidation through collaboration with political parties. The group noted that it remains open to working with the NPP and other political actors “as we collectively strive to consolidate Ghana’s democracy.”

The statement further congratulated the New Patriotic Party for the successful conduct of its presidential primary and wished the party’s flagbearer well ahead of future political engagements.
