CLOSAG Strike: National Service Personnel directed to remain at post – Ruth Dela Seddoh

The Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, has directed all National Service Personnel (NSP) posted to institutions under the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOSAG) to continue reporting to work despite the association’s ongoing industrial action.

In a notice issued to service personnel, the Authority clarified that NSPs are not part of the strike action declared by CLOSAG, and therefore remain obligated to perform their assigned duties.

“The National Service Authority wishes to inform all National Service Personnel currently deployed to institutions under the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana that they are not parties to the ongoing industrial action declared by the Association,” the statement said.

According to her , the strike action by CLOSAG has affected operations in some institutions where national service personnel have been deployed.

However, management emphasized that service personnel are not members of the association and are therefore not covered by the strike.

“Management wishes to emphasise that National Service Personnel are not members of CLOSAG and therefore not covered by the strike action,” the statement added.

The Authority has therefore directed all affected personnel to continue reporting to their respective workplaces and carry out their assigned duties as expected.

It further urged service personnel to remain committed to their national responsibility and support the institutions to which they have been posted.

“Management therefore urges all affected NSP to remain committed to their national duty and offer their services in support of the institutions to which they have been assigned,” the statement noted.

The Authority also expressed appreciation for the dedication and cooperation of national service personnel across the country in contributing to national development.
