Former African Union Commission Chairperson Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma joins Ghana in mourning the August 6 helicopter crash victims, describing them as ‘heroes of Africa’.

In a statement, Dr. Dlamini-Zuma said she received the news of the tragedy with profound shock and deep sorrow. The crash claimed the lives of ministers, high-ranking government officials, and other public servants.
According to Dr. Dlamini-Zuma, they fell while on duty, serving their nation and its people with dedication, adding that the loss was not only Ghana’s but an African loss.
“These were not only sons of Ghana; they were sons of Africa. This is not Ghana’s loss alone; it is an African loss. Africans share in this pain.”
She offered her condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the government, the people of Ghana, and the bereaved families.
“They are going to join the galaxy of our continental heroes and heroines. May their souls rest in eternal peace.”
