officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) were seen today at Parliament premises with the mission to disconnect the legislative house from the national power grid due to outstanding debts totalling GH₵23 million.

This move follows ECG’s aggressive revenue mobilization efforts over the past year. The officials were observed around key power transformers supplying electricity to Parliament.
Without intervention, Parliament faces the possibility of being unable to conduct business today. This development comes on the heels of Accra Academy Senior High School experiencing a power outage due to unpaid arrears amounting to GHS480,000. Stay tuned for further updates.
