The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has set a new record in its financial performance, collecting GH₵1.74 billion in July 2025, the highest monthly revenue in its history.

This was revealed by Julius Kpekpena, Acting Managing Director of ECG, during an engagement with the Energy Committee of Parliament on Friday, September 26.
“This year, July, we had our highest ever revenue that ECG collected, GH₵1.74 billion. It’s a record and we want to celebrate that,” Kpekpena stated, expressing confidence in the company’s revenue drive.
Beyond the financial milestone, the ECG boss noted that the company is prioritizing reforms to improve customer service. Several initiatives are being rolled out to reduce delays and frustrations experienced by applicants seeking new power connections or meters.
“We want to reduce the frustrations applicants face in getting power supply or in getting meters. We know we have some issues in some of the districts and regions, and we are working to resolve those,” he assured. “But internally, we are working on those processes, and we are making progress.”
