The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, convened a crisis meeting on Monday, 23rd February 2026, following incidents of violence during ongoing inter-school sports competitions in the Central Region.

The meeting brought together GES management, the Central Regional Director of Education, Dr. Juliette Dufie Otami, municipal and district directors of education, heads of affected schools, including Aggrey Memorial SHS, Adisadel College, Swedru School of Business, Obrachire SHTS, and Kwanyako SHTS, regional sports coordinators, and some of the students and parents directly involved.
