Ghanaian cultural pride took center stage during President John Dramani Mahama’s recent visit to Zambia, where he donned a traditional Ghanaian smock, highlighting the nation’s rich heritage on the international stage.

Hon. Frank Afriyie, Member of Parliament for Afadjato South, praised the President’s bold fashion choice, describing it as a testament to our national pride and identity. It’s a reminder that our culture is our strength, and we should continue to promote it on the global stage.
The MP further commended President Mahama for promoting Ghanaian culture abroad.
“This is what we expect from our leaders, to showcase our unique heritage and traditions to the world.” Afriyie also lauded past Ghanaian leaders who have similarly highlighted the country’s culture, calling it a positive trend that should continue.
Observers suggest that the President’s cultural showcase could boost Ghana’s cultural exports and tourism, as Zambians and other Africans are likely to take note of the country’s vibrant traditions and identity.
