GHS confirms 25 new Mpox cases; total rises to 519

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 25 additional cases of Mpox, raising the country’s total number of confirmed infections to 519 as of September 5, 2025.

In its latest update, the GHS noted that no new deaths have been recorded, with the death toll remaining at one.

Currently, there are no active hospital admissions related to the disease.

Mpox, previously known as monkeypox, is transmitted primarily through close contact with infected individuals. Health officials continue to advise the public to observe preventive measures and seek prompt medical care if symptoms arise.

The GHS says it remains committed to active surveillance and interventions to curb further spread of the virus.
