“He inspired Ghana’s industrial spirit”: Bawumia mourns Apostle Kwadwo Safo

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has paid glowing tribute to Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Group of Companies, who passed away on Thursday, September 11, at the age of 77.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Dr. Bawumia described the late Apostle as more than a religious leader, celebrating him as a visionary who pioneered indigenous innovations and inspired an industrial spirit among Ghanaians.

“Apostle Safo served Ghana beyond the capacity of a religious leader. He pioneered indigenous innovations and forcefully inspired an industrial spirit amongst Ghanaians. He was also dedicated to improving the lives of the less privileged in society, as witnessed in his celebrated numerous philanthropic endeavours,” Dr. Bawumia wrote.

Reflecting on his personal encounters with the late Apostle, Dr. Bawumia noted: “As a religious leader, his open arms received me. Anytime I called on him, I departed his presence with lasting words of encouragement and wisdom.”

He extended condolences to the bereaved family and members of the Kristo Asafo Mission, urging them to take solace in the legacy of the man widely hailed as an inventor, industrialist, and philanthropist.

“On behalf of my family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, the Kristo Asafo Mission, and all who mourn this irreparable loss. May his legacy continue to endure and inspire future generations to believe in our domestic solutions, serve their communities, and put Ghana first,” he added.
