The presidential candidate and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has allegedly been picked up by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Family sources confirmed the arrest but said the reasons for his detention remain unclear. They revealed that Mr. Akpaloo was taken from his home in Kumasi, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
EOCO has yet to release an official statement, leaving the circumstances surrounding the arrest uncertain.
Mr. Akpaloo, who contested in the 2024 general elections, is a well-known figure in Ghana’s political space. His campaign has often targeted young voters, and although the LPG remains a relatively small party, it has gradually gained visibility in national politics.
