Celebrating the uniqueness of Christmas-born babies, MTN, a leading mobile telecommunication network, has taken a heartwarming initiative to bring joy to mothers and newborns during the festive season. In a generous gesture, MTN donated thirty hampers to Christmas-born babies in the Central Region, with a focus on uplifting spirits at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

At the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital alone, 16 newborns and their mothers were recipients of these thoughtful hampers. The gesture brought joy to the recipients, many of whom expressed gratitude for the unexpected support during a time that should be filled with celebration. Some mothers, facing financial challenges due to hospital bills or health issues, found solace in the generosity of MTN.
The recipients showered praises on MTN for their unexpected and heartwarming support. Encouraged by this positive response, many pleaded with the company to extend such benevolence to less privileged health institutions in underserved communities across the country in the future.
Francis Gyan, Head of Sales in the Southern Zone of the country, highlighted that MTN is committed to giving back to society and expressing love to newborns and their mothers. This donation is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support health institutions nationwide.

Georgina Arkafie, Head of Human Resource in the Southern Zone of Ghana, shared insights into MTN’s consistent support to the community. She mentioned other initiatives such as blood donation on Valentine’s Day, benefiting the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, and reiterated the company’s commitment to contributing positively to society.

These heartwarming events were captured in pictures and videos at various hospitals where the hampers were distributed. MTN’s initiative not only brings joy to Christmas-born babies and their mothers but also serves as a beacon of corporate social responsibility, creating a positive impact on communities and healthcare institutions.
