NDC poised to hold Ayawaso East seat – Global InfoAnalytics poll

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) appears set to retain the Ayawaso East parliamentary seat ahead of the March 2026 by-election, according to a new survey by Global InfoAnalytics.

The poll suggests that either of the two leading contenders in the NDC’s internal race would secure a decisive victory over the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate in a straight contest.

In a simulated matchup, NDC aspirant Hajia Amina Adams leads the NPP’s Baba Ali with 73 per cent of voter support.

Another scenario shows Baba Jamal, also contesting the NDC primary, polling 67 per cent against Baba Ali’s 33 per cent, indicating a comfortable margin for the opposition party.

The findings were made public by the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, in a Facebook post on Thursday, February 5.

Within the NDC’s own primary race, the poll identifies Hajia Amina Adams as the front-runner. She commands 58 per cent support among respondents, followed by Baba Jamal with 32 per cent.

Other aspirants trail significantly, with Muhammed Ramne polling 5 per cent, Dr. Yakubu Azindow at 3 per cent, and Najib Muhammed Sani receiving 2 per cent support.

The results point to a strong position for the NDC in Ayawaso East as the party prepares for both its primary and the upcoming by-election.
